BATTLE OF THE BOOKS 2011

Budlong will once again be competeing in the Chicago Public Schools Battle of the Books program. We will have two teams from our school. One team will represent the
7th & 8th graders, and the other team will represent 5th & 6th grade. Each team will consist of 10 members each. We will be having informational meetings sometime in October to determine how many people are interested and what our game plan will be. Please also check back often on this blog for updated links and guides. You can click on the link below for a complete list of books and more information about the competition.

  1. Calder Games - I thought this was an interesting story with many twists and turns. However, I felt that it was very hard to make a connection with any of the characters because they were under-developed. Did anyone else experience this after reading the book? Tell me what you think.

  2. When you reach me - This time travel book had me hooked up to the very end. I thought Stead did a great job of leaving the readers in suspense up to the very end. Tell me what you think.

  3. I read the book "When You Reach Me" even though it's not in the 4/6 battle of the books, and in the very end I really understood why the " crazy man" did the stuff he did.
